Taylor Johnson

After a nearly 3-year hiatus, Taylor Johnson is excited to return to Kansas City and KCTV5 as traffic anchor. In 2021, Taylor was a reporter for KCTV5 Mornings before employing her dynamic storytelling abilities as a reporter and weekend anchor at First Alert 6 in Omaha. 441o3d

There she won first place as Best Multimedia-Journalist for the 2025 Eric Sevareid Awards, and an Award of Merit in the same category a year before. With a love for community building, she also sat on several leadership boards and emceed countless events.

Prior to moving farther into the Midwest, Taylor served as weekend evening anchor and reporter in Terre Haute, Ind. At WTWO, she covered a string of federal executions under the istration of Former President Trump. She also served as a fill-in weather anchor.

Taylor got her start in broadcast news as a digital content producer at ABC13 News in Lynchburg, Va., where she produced several segments online, helping the team win an Associated Press award for best website.

Originally from Prince George’s County in Maryland, Taylor spent her younger years exploring neighboring Washington, D.C., where she learned a vast amount of cultural and American history. She is also a proud Terp with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland in College Park.

Taylor is a self-proclaimed “Real Housewives" guru who has blossomed her ion for lifestyle from early internships. When she is not live-tweeting during episodes, Taylor enjoys reading a good book, spending time with friends, and face-timing her niece back in Maryland.
