KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A months-long search has come to a close after the arrest of a man accused of robbing a Kansas City car dealership employee at gunpoint.

Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Tuesday, June 10, indicate that Olvin Rodriguez-Ramos, 23, of Kansas City, has been charged in connection with a December armed robbery.

A probable cause statement filed by the Kansas City Police Department revealed that on Dec. 18, 2024, law enforcement officials were called to a local car dealership with reports of an armed robbery.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a victim and a witness who reported that Rodriguez-Ramos entered the business in search of an Infiniti sedan. Rodriguez-Ramos gave the victim his phone number and asked him to keep in touch if a vehicle to his liking came in.

However, investigators said they found that Rodriguez-Ramos jabbed a gun into the victim’s ribs and demanded his cash. When the victim tried to fight him off, a second individual entered the business and tied the victim’s arms up. The pair then went through the victim’s pants, found his wallet and took $1,300 in cash.

KD said a check of the phone number given to the victim returned to Rodriguez-Ramos. In April 2025, law enforcement officials put out a person of interest bulletin for all metro law enforcement agencies to keep an eye out for him.

On May 30, investigators said they had been unable to locate Rodriguez-Ramos; however, a warrant for his arrest was not prepared until Tuesday, June 10. He was arrested the next day.

As a result, Rodriguez-Ramos has been charged with robbery in the first degree and armed criminal action. If convicted, he could be sentenced to life in prison. A $100,000 bond had been issued, which was posted on Friday. However, he remains behind bars on an additional hold for U.S. Immigration.

A bond review hearing has been set for 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, with a preliminary hearing expected at 1 p.m. on July 9. No further information has been released.
