KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Today will likely be the hottest thus far this year. Gear up for 80s the rest of the day with high temperatures reaching the upper 80s. Due to humidity, feels-like temperatures as hot as 92 to 95 degrees are possible.
High temperatures hitting 88° in the metro by this afternoon. Across the KCTV5 area, high temperatures range between 86 to 90°. We’ll have a bit of a breeze to help throughout the day at 5 to 15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. Clouds will start to bubble up again this afternoon before becoming mostly sunny by the evening.
THURSDAY: The heat and humidity start to decrease and give some relief by Thursday as a cold front es through. We will have high temperatures in the lower to mid-80s, but it will be breezy. Winds will gust up to 35 mph.
FRIDAY: Friday remains in the mid-80s with mostly sunny skies and the chance for an isolated rain shower or thunderstorm.
WEEKEND: This weekend remains in the 80s, and Sunday brings back the chance for rain and thunderstorm activity. Saturday will stay mostly sunny with highs near 83°. Spotty rain and thunderstorm activity are possible Sunday night, leading into Monday.
NEXT WEEK: A First Warn is in place for Monday as we see the best chance for some much-needed scattered rain and thunderstorms. It does not appear to be a washout, but we could see activity in the morning and then again in the evening. Spotty rain and storms are possible again Tuesday, as well.
