Pop-up rumbles this afternoon with low end severe storm potential this evening
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Typical spring like pop-up showers and weak thunderstorms are possible this afternoon. We do have a First Warn in place starting at 3 pm for the potential of strong to severe storms through the evening. The storms move in from the northwest and slowly drag southeast through the evening. Much of the storm activity is expected to stay around I-70 and north.
There’s a little more moisture in the air this afternoon, so it may feel a but muggy outside along with warm high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
THURSDAY & FRIDAY: A First Warn is in place due to scattered rain and storms. We will continue to see scattered showers and storms through Thursday morning, mainly in the northern counties. These will then become scattered throughout the area during the day and become more widespread rain overnight into early Friday morning.
WEEKEND: Temperatures are anticipated in the upper 60s and lower 70s by Friday afternoon with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will remain here moving into the start of the weekend with a few isolated showers possible, but many of us will stay dry Saturday. On Sunday, another First Warn is in place due to scattered rain and heavy cloud cover are expected, but no severe weather activities are anticipated.
