KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Mostly sunny skies with a mild breeze out of the southwest between 5 - 15 mph. High temperatures reach the upper 70s to low 80s with a high UV index. Burn time as early as 30 minutes. We are also in the midst of spring, so pollen is peaking for many tree species, so if you suffer from allergies, be sure to take your medicine before heading out.

As we move into the evening, we see a threat for showers and thunderstorm activity. A level one severe weather threat takes over the western side of the viewing area, including the metro tracking up towards Worth County and down towards Cass County, Linn County, and Anderson County. The timing is mid and late evening between 8 and 10 p.m. Severe weather ingredients are limited; however, there is a chance for damaging winds and hail.

MIDWEEK: Shower and thunderstorm activities are expected to be isolated to scattered and will transition into early Wednesday morning. We will then see limited opportunities for wet weather through the mid and late morning Wednesday, with temperatures starting in the mid-50s. By early afternoon, the threat for storm activity grows, and another severe weather risk level one enters the region. We may see more active thunderstorms overall Wednesday due to the timing, between 1 and 5 p.m. Temperatures increase to the mid-70s. Again, we are more likely to see damaging wind and hail develop rather than rotation. As we progress into Thursday, widespread scattered rain and weaker thunderstorms will take over with temperatures falling slightly to the lower 70s.

WEEKEND: This rain may seep into Friday morning’s commute, but will begin drying out by the afternoon as temperatures bottom out for the work week between the upper 60s and lower 70s. Clouds will remain moving forward into the start of the weekend with a small opportunity for isolated showers Saturday. We begin rebuilding widespread rain and weaker thunderstorms Sunday.
