KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A few scattered showers remain, especially towards our north and eastern counties, but another round of potential isolated showers closer to the metro are possible between 5 and 8 p.m. The main concern this afternoon is wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph somewhere between 1 and 4 p.m. This wind is coming out of the north, but temperatures will remain on the warm side between 67° and 72°.

FRIDAY: Temperatures will fall to the upper 30s and lower 40s for Friday morning, but mild winds ranging from 5 to 10 mph will be common, increasing to a potential of 15 mph Friday afternoon. This is due to high pressure beginning to center over the region, providing clear skies and sunshine but lighter wind. Cooler air, however, will have made it to the region, allowing temperatures to fall back to normal between the lower and middle 60s. This will not last as high pressure continues to transition to the east.

WEEKEND: Temperatures increase quickly for the weekend, pushing into the lower 70s Saturday and peaking in the lower 80s Sunday. However, this does bring in winds at 10 to 20 mph along with gusts between 25 and 35 mph, with the strongest winds on Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Monday morning, we see a small chance for scattered showers. As this system es overhead, cooler air will take its place, dropping temperatures from the 80s on Sunday to the middle and upper 60s on Monday and finally the middle 60s overall Tuesday. Temps slowly rebound back to the lower 70s Wednesday with mostly sunny skies.
